Lynne Hazell (Charlton)

CHARLTON, LYNNE L. (HAZELL) 68, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, June 30, 2015. The beloved wife of Thomas Charlton, Jr., she is also survived by her daughters, Nyssa H. Rogers of Kirkland, WA, and Elizabeth A. Mangiameli and husband Anthony Mangiameli of North Kingstown, RI, and three grandchildren, Amber E. Rogers, Miles A. Rogers, and Nicholas C. Mangiameli. Born in Lima, OH, the daughter of Colleen C. (Arnold) Hazell and the late James R. Hazell, she is survived by her mother as well as brothers, Scott Hazell (Matula) of Tempe, AZ, and Douglas Hazell (Linda) of Centerville, OH, and sister Kay Frey (James) of Westerville, OH, plus numerous nieces and nephews. Lynne served in the United States Marine Corps, and was one of the Corps' first two women trained as air traffic controllers. Retired after 23 years as a Systems Analyst at Perot Systems, Lynne developed and supported information systems for the medical insurance industry. Active in Friends In Service to Humanity (FISH) and the North Kingstown Meals on Wheels program, she also served as Rear Commodore of the Twenty Hundred Club and Secretary of the Mattakesett Homeowners Association on Martha's Vineyard. She was a founding member of the Potluck Camping and Choral Society. Lynne was the anchor keeping family and friends connected and up-to-date on each others' lives. She greatly enjoyed time with her grandchildren, cooking, gardening, time on the Vineyard and the theater. Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Monday, July 6, from 5-8 PM, at The FAGAN~QUINN Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown.
