Linda Kinnaird (Zinn)

Linda Lou Zinn, age 79 of Lima, passed at 7:25 a.m., Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at home. She was born March 20, 1946 in South Solon, Ohio to the late Pearl Abner ‘Fireball’ and Malinda Naomi Lanier Kinnaird. She married Edward Zinn November 18, 1989, and he preceded her in death on November 7, 2003.

Linda worked most of her life as an administrative assistant, having been employed at Conn West Freight Systems and later retiring from Woodlawn Cemetery in Lima. She was a member of Shawnee Alliance Church and had been active in several community organizations, including the V.F.W. Post 1275 Auxiliary of Lima, the Elks B.P.O.E. #54 of Lima, and the American Legion Post 96 Auxiliary of Lima. Linda was also a proud member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed attending performances by the Lima Symphony and found great joy in shopping, which remained one of her favorite pastimes. 

She is survived by a daughter – Malynda D. (Dennis) Mayer of Lima; a son – Michael Daren (Wendy) Mason of Dry Ridge, KY; 6 grandchildren – Laura (Mitchell) Carman; Josh Mason; Sarah (Chris) Graham; Tanner (Danielle) Mayer; Michael Mason; Luke Mason; Vanessa Courtney; 4 great grandchildren – Mason Birkenhauer; Charleigh Townsend ; Wrenley Mayer; Rylee Mayer; Hayden Smith; siblings – Jeanie Cunningham of Houston, TX; James (Irene) Kinnaird of Lima; Shirley Guesford of Charles Town, WV; Richard (Bonnie) Huffer of Lakeview; Robert Huffer of Jax Beach, FL; and Deborah (Timothy) Campbell of Lake Butler, FL. 

She was preceded in death by a daughter – Malyssa D. Mason; 2 brothers – Donald Kinnaird and Daniel Kinnaird. 

Memorial services will begin at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Shawnee Alliance Church. Dr. Rev. Daniel Messner will officiate. A lunch will follow the services at church. Burial of Linda’s cremated remains will be in Shawnee Cemetery, next to her husband Edward Zinn. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at the church. 

 

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
