Paul Barker

 

LIMA -- Paul A. Barker, age 76, passed away peacefully at 12:17 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2022, at Kessler Estates.

Paul was born October 24, 1946 in Lima, OH, to William "Bill" Barker and Marguerite "Peg" (Murphy) Barker Lawson who both preceded him in death.

Paul was a 1964 graduate of Lima Senior High School and earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Education from The Ohio State University. He was involved in education for several years and worked in Parks and Recreation before opening the Frosty Mug in Spencerville. He retired from the Red Cross, where he served in the Health and Safety Department. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and golf was Paul's passion. He absolutely loved his time watching and playing golf.

He is survived by devoted girlfriend, Debra Parent of Lima, sister-in-law, Joyce Barker of Lima; 2 nieces, Lori Barker of Elyria and Lisa Ketron of Melbourne, KY; great-niece, Maresa Lisaula; 3 great-nephews, Dominic Lisaula, Brayden Ketron and Landen Ketron and his beloved dog, Allie.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his step-father, Robert Lawson; brother, Larry Barker; Lisa's husband, Frank Ketron and his beloved K-9 friends, Cassie and Polly.

A service celebrating Paul's life will begin at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Chiles - Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 8, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross or Deb's Dogs.
