Steve Mauk VIEW PROFILE

Steven M. Mauk, 68, formerly of Vandalia, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at his residence. He was born February 23, 1946, in Lima, to the late Dwight and Grace (Wilkins) Mauk.

Steve is survived by two children and spouses, Aaron (Kelly) Mauk of Troy, and Julie (Don) Heitkamp of Minster; four grandchildren, Tyler, Ashley, Andrew Mauk, Riley Heitkamp; brothers Tom Mauk of Florida, Dave (Shirley) Mauk of Mansfield, Paul Mauk of New York; sisters, Carol Ralston of Georgia, Wilma Skelly of Bellefontaine, and Nancy (Dan) Bradford of Lima.

Steven played college football for four years at the College of Wooster and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a past resident of Vandalia, where he had been a member and sang in the choir at St. Christopher Catholic Church. Steven was also a past member of the Vandalia Lions Club. He had worked as a salesman for Quality Steel of Dayton.

A funeral service to honor his life will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 27, at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St., West Milton, with full military honors to follow. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite veteran's charity.
