ELIDA -- Ronald "Ron" L. Weaver, 79, passed on away Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 11:38 pm, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Ron was born May 11, 1945 in Lima, OH, to Clyde and Juanita (Dotson) Weaver who both preceded him in death. On June 4, 1989 he married Lisa M. (Swygart) Weaver who survives in Elida, OH.
Ron graduated from Lima Senior High School in 1964. He then enlisted into the United States Army and was honorably discharged after three years of service with the rank of Sergeant. Ron worked as a truck driver at British Petroleum for over thirty four years. Ron and his wife are members of St. Stephen Orthodox Church. He was also a member of SASS, also known as Single Action Shooting Society. Ron was quite meticulous with his yard and took great pride in his work. Ron enjoyed watching The Office and Westerns. He loved his wife and cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren dearly. Ron was known for always having a positive attitude and a great sense of humor.
Ron is survived by his wife, Lisa Weaver of Elida, OH, children, Stephanie Griffin of Elida, OH, Elizabeth (James) Goodson of Hunstsville, AL, Jonathon "Jon" (Rachel) Weaver of Prospect, OH, Jennifer (Garrett) Kakita of Las Vegas, NV, grandchildren, Lauren Griffin, Mariah Griffin, Kaiya Kakita, Carter Kakita, Jonathon Weaver and sister, Ina Walter of Sneads Ferry, NC.
He is preceded in death by his siblings, Robert "Bob" Weaver and Evonne Eichelberger.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October, 21, 2024 at 10:00am at St. Stephen Orthodox Church, 3560 Shawnee Rd, Cridersville, OH 45806. Father Joshua Coolman to officiate the service. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery - Elida following the service.
Visitation will be on Sunday, October 20, 2024 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Chiles - Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephen Orthodox Church.
