James Hershberger
LAKEVIEW - - James "Jim" Henry Hershberger, 77, of Lakeview, OH, passed away Monday morning, October 23, 2023, at Lima Memorial Health Systems.
James was born on October 9, 1946, in Lima, OH, a son of the late James and Anna Marie Rinehart Hershberger. Jim married Edith Lucille Flinn on October 25, 1968, and she preceded him in death on July 1, 2007. He is also preceded in death by a beloved sister, Lois Hall, and sister-in-law, Milly Hershberger.
Jim is survived by his four children, Lisa (Doug) Gamble of Wapakoneta, Cinda Hershberger of Columbus, Scott (Joy) Hershberger of Bradenton, FL, and Amy Hershberger of Lima, six grandchildren, Cody (Ariel) Mulcahy, Dyllan Gamble, Drysten (Alli) Gamble, Delayne Gamble, Alyssa Hershberger, and Blake Haun, two great grandchildren, Keaton Mulcahy and Dexter Gamble, and five siblings, Joe (Nancy) Hershberger of Lakeview, Tim Hershberger of Wapakoneta, David (Ollie) Hershberger of Texas, Kathy Bowersock of Cridersville, and Ida (Norman) Hershberger of Lima.
Jim was a 1964 graduate of Lima Senior High School. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during Vietnam. During Jim's working career, He worked at Ohio Steel, ExCello, Continental Can, and retired from Palmer-Donavin. He was a member of Indian Lake Moose Lodge #1533, and Spencerville VFW Post #6772. Jim enjoyed reading, fishing, going out to eat and to The Moose, visiting with his dialysis family, and spending time with his twin, Joe.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, Saturday, October 28, 2023, at St. Johns Methodist Church, 19220 Spring Street, Wapakoneta, OH 45895 in St. Johns with a luncheon to follow at noon.
Memorial contributions may be given in Jim's memory to RTC Transportation Services, 315 W. Auburn Ave, Bellefontaine, OH 43311.
