LIMA - Donald Paul "Donnie" Miller, age 77, was called to his Heavenly Home at 8:16 p.m. on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at his home after a long battle with cancer.

Donnie was born April 17, 1946, in Lima, OH, to Robert G. and Florence E. (Ribley) Miller who both preceded him in death.

Donnie was a 1964 graduate of Lima Senior High School and earned a Bachelor of Science Education Degree from The Ohio State University. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and retired from the United States Postal Service in November of 2009. Donnie had previously worked as a probation officer and as a preschool teacher at Cal Workman's Learning to Learn Center. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and was a member of St. John Catholic Church where he sang in the choir.

He is survived by two brothers, Timothy J. (Juanita) Miller of Snellville, GA, and David L. (Jenn) Miller of Columbus; sister-in-law, Candi Miller of Lima, and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, William J. Miller, Robert L. Miller, James A. Miller; and a sister-in-law, Virginia L. "Ginger" Miller.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024, at St. John Catholic Church, 777 S. Main St., Lima, OH 45804. Father David Ross will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the United States Air Force and VFW #1275.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel with a Rosary Service at 8:00 p.m. following the visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
